From Joy to Mourning

This is a picture of my kids two nights ago.  I was voted "mother of the year" at this point.

I had decided to give in and get the kids a couple of fish, the bowl, the statue to put inside, etc.  The kids each got a fish.  Their names started out as Taco and Polka-dot, by the next morning, their names had been changed, one being to Julius Ceasar.  (Someone had big plans for their fish!)

Last night we had a "wormie" experience, after returning from the store we found the fish floating at the top of the bowl.  For those of you who don't know Wormie, let me explain.

We met wormie on a warm day in June of 2006.  It was Noah's birthday party.  We were having a cookout and we were all hanging out in the front so that the kids could play outside.  Hannah found a worm.  She named it Wormie.  No  sooner had she named it wormie, then her cousin Jessie, the dog, cut that poor Wormie in half.  Here was the result.
As you can see, we buried poor Wormie in the front yard, in a nice spot under the tree.  Molly, Hannah's cousin, said a few nice words about dear Wormie at his funeral. However, the day never did recover.

You ask how we spent last night? Just think of Wormie, and now you know.
